Why we started
The internet was meant to be a place where everyone can publish. Somewhere along the way it turned into a place where everyone rents: your website on someone's platform, your files in someone's cloud, your tools on a subscription that goes up every year. Your data lives on servers you will never see, under rules you didn't write.
The alternative already exists. Thousands of excellent open-source apps — for blogs, files, photos, forums, automation, analytics — can run on a small computer at home. What stopped most people was never the software. It was everything around it: domains, certificates, routers, security, updates, backups. Hours of setup, and one wrong setting away from a broken site.
Dargo exists to take those hard parts away. You pick an app; it's online, at your own address, with HTTPS, in minutes. The computer is yours, the data stays on it, and you never touch a router setting.
